It has been declared that today is Flag Day. So, here we go. I salute the Red Ensign, my flag (and I don't beat up on welfare recipients while doing it, Jean!). God save the Queen!
I am afraid that is just not so, my friend. It was the former PM, the guy with the golf balls, who also mused about Canada becoming a republic, the one that beat up on "the little people" (on the first "flag day" too). I don't know that there has been a Monarch of ours, or member of the Royal Family, who ever grabbed a downtrodden subject by the neck and threw him/her to the ground. Royalty does not do that kind of thing (anymore)!
Eclectic commentary about random political and social issues, primarily on federal and provincial politics in Canada, from an Albertan’s point of view.

I didn't know that republicans frequented this blog. SPQR, then?
I am not sure that's allowed! (-;

Then I return to my initial posting. My flag has neither leaf nor St. George's cross.
